“Raised on Ice: The Making of a Champion Before He Even Knew It”

On the ice, Ilia Malanin stands out from the rest.  Requires a lot of time, a lot of energy, a lot of  dedication. >> The son of Russian Olympic skaters. Both my parents, they’re my coaches and they both been to an Olympics as figure skaters. Ilia spent a lot of time growing up around the ice.  They always had to bring me to the rink cuz they were there from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. every day. And it’s kind of more like I was hanging around the rink. That time paid off.

“The Mind of a Champion: How Ilia Redefined Ice Skating’s Future”

Ilia is now a two-time world champion in the world’s number one ranked male figure skater and wants to bring back the glory days of competitive ice skating.  Just being able to bring back the popularity of skating how it was decades ago and is drawing a lot of attention from fans with his signature trick, the raspberry twist. I guess there’s a move in skating called a butterfly and it’s you add a twist into it. It’s called a butterfly twist and it’s a pretty common trick that’s off the ice done in like parkour.

“Quad God Mentality: The Mindset Behind Ice Skating Greatness”

And the way it started as raspberry twist is because my last name means raspberry in Russian.  A twist served up with a mindbending routine that’s landed Ilia the nickname. Here he is, the quad god.  Quad god. It is a nickname that I embrace and  sometimes it does help me get through, you know, competition with six types of quadruple jumps in one program taking that power and precision to the Olympics in Italy.  Like we’re all just a team of athletes who represent team USA and it’s just such an honor to be one of those amazing athletes where you’re sure to see him snacking on chocolate before he skates.

“Sweet Ritual, Steel Mind: The Psychology Behind an Olympic Dream”

I prefer to eat Hershey’s milk chocolate before it’s good  and shows the world how a lot of hard work I really hope that I can give them a sense of feeling that it’s more than just the Olympics. It’s more than just the programs that this sport is our life. This is our choice. This is something that we have dedicated a lot of time, a lot of energy, a lot of sacrifices  and a little chocolate. Most of the time when  I’ve had a Hershey’s chocolate, I’ve always had a pretty successful and pretty happy  performance. Can help an athlete earn some sweet Olympic gold.  To go there and to try to skate my best to win that gold medal.

The winners of the semifinals will go straight to the gold medal game.

Curling’s Elite Clash in Cortina: Gold, Glory, and Home Ice

The losers will go to the bronze medal game. And everywhere you look, there will be world champions, Olympic champions, including, of course, from Italy, from Cortina, if you can believe it. Anything Can Happen: Mixed Doubles Curling Kicks Off Milano 2026

As I said, there’s competitive parity across the board, and there’s a feeling in many curling circles that any of the 10 teams could truly reach the podium. As we know, there’s a certain unpredictability to mixed doubles curling. So it all begins Wednesday evening, the first draw. It will run through the championship games on Tuesday, February 10th. After that, the women’s and men’s fours will take center stage. I’ll be on the ground keeping you updated on everything. You won’t miss a single moment. It’s going to be dramatic. As always, get ready.
