OnePlus 2: Ignoring the Hype—Is This Flagship Killer Really Worth It?
Hey, guys, what’s up?, and this is the OnePlus 2. The company name is OnePlus. The phone’s name is ‘The Two’. OnePlus 2. So, I’ve been using this device as my daily driver—meaning all the time—for about a month now, or roughly three weeks. And I know that a lot of people get pretty worked up over the “Flagship Killer” slogan that they use. All I’m going to do is ignore all the hype and just focus solely on the device itself. So, the easiest place to start is with the hardware. Some interesting decisions were made in the hardware department of the OnePlus 2, but the end result is a really excellent phone that feels great in the hand. And that is the most important thing.
So, it has a nice, substantial weight to it.
OnePlus 2: Premium Feel, Perfect Size—Why This Flagship Feels Right!
It’s a bit on the larger side for a smartphone, but it’s not *too* big—after all, with a 5.5-inch display, it certainly isn’t the largest smartphone out there. The metal band running around the perimeter of the phone feels truly premium. It’s a massive improvement over the OnePlus 1. And it’s largely thanks to this metal band that the phone feels much more high-end. I also appreciate that they didn’t try to make it excessively thin—as some manufacturers tend to do in their race to outdo one another. But hey, there’s nothing wrong with being a little thicker.
Perfect Size, Iconic Sandstone Black—The Flagship You’ll Actually Love!
A plea to all smartphone manufacturers: if you’re going to use a large camera module (which you probably are), feel free to just fill the rest of the phone’s body with battery—just like this. It won’t make the phone too heavy or too thick, and everyone will appreciate the extra battery life. Thanks. Anyway, the size of the OnePlus 2 is just right. It is rectangular, and It looks somewhat boxy, but it fits very well in the hand, and holding this phone is truly effortless. Its Sandstone Black back also contributes to this. Now, every OnePlus 2 phone comes with this very Sandstone Black back by default. And its texture is quite unique.
OnePlus 2: Durable, Customizable, and Surprisingly Practical—Here’s Why!
I reckon it is slightly rougher than last year’s model—perhaps for added durability—yet it still feels excellent in the hand. Furthermore, the back cover is removable; thus, you can purchase and attach a different back cover made of a different material, giving the phone a distinct look and feel. Additionally, removing the back cover reveals the dual SIM card slot tray. However, you cannot access the battery or any expandable storage; you only gain access to the SIM card slots.

OnePlus 2 Alert Slider: This One Feature Changes Everything!
Now, there is also a very unique switch located on the left side of this phone. It is called the ‘Alert Slider.’ With its help, you can switch between different sound profiles without even turning on the phone’s screen. If you slide it all the way down, you will receive all notifications. If you position it in the middle, you will receive only priority notifications; and if you slide it all the way up, the phone will enter ‘Do Not Disturb’ mode.
