Between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Cleveland Guardians, the Guardians, no starter confirmed at the time this video is being recorded. For the Dodgers, I see Shoi Otani listed as the starter in this one, making his first pitching appearance of the season. And the story for the Dodgers last year was just slowly integrating Otani back into the fold on the mound. And you know, they did a good job with it. I mean, you know, 47 innings of work and Otani had a couple of blowup starts, but he also had a lot of great outings where he finished with a sub3 ERA at season’s end.
And, you know, he’s obviously a big piece towards the uh the Dodgers postseason run. And I still think this is a Dodgers team that’s got to just be a little bit weary, a little bit careful with uh with with with Otani, but I think you’re going to start to see the the shackles come off a little bit. They’re going to be willing to let him go a little bit further a little bit further and probably even go into like the sixth, seventh inning in some of these games now should he be able to navigate that.
Now, that the Cleveland Guardians are a team that’s going to be be feisty this season. I think they’re going to be scrappy. We’re going to have to see how Monday’s series opener in this set in this set goes. Um, but I still think that the the Dodgers can take it to Cleveland here regardless of who Cleveland decides that they’re going to throw out. Um, you know, my problem for for Cleveland has been just like trouble consistently trust trusting this team to put up a lot of runs and there are certain teams it’s going to work against in the in the AL Central where there’s a lot of lowercing games. Sometimes that can work, but in in these games against teams like the Dodgers, you need to be able to bring your offense to the table. I don’t know if you’re going to be able to do that against Sho Otani and against this Dodger bullpen. I think that Cleveland’s bullpen could be up to the task, but I just I don’t know if they’re going to be in a position to to battle here.
So, I’m going to go with I’m going to go with the Dodgers here. I think Show Otani has another strong start. Um I like this Dodgers lineup right now. The the problem for the Guardians, like I said, when you look at their numbers against righties this season, their team OPS numbers are bottom 10. The batting average is only at 236. That’s bottom 10 as well. This is normally a team that takes really good at bats, but I don’t think it’s I don’t think it’s happening for him here. I’m going to take the Dodgers in this one. Whether you try to lay that price or take them on the run line, it’s your call here, but it’s uh it’s Dodgers for me in this one.
