Galaxy S21 FE vs Pixel 6: Everyone Says Skip It…But Are They Wrong?
So, Samsung’s S21 FE—the Fan Edition—was recently launched. And the general consensus regarding this phone is that, well, it’s a decent device, but due to the timing of its launch, you shouldn’t buy it. Instead, you should opt for the Pixel 6; between the two, it is considered the superior choice. However, I disagree. From a technical standpoint, I can certainly understand why people would view the Pixel 6 as the clearly better option, right? It’s $100 cheaper—which is a significant factor.
Pixel 6 vs S21 FE: I Used Both…Here’s Why Everyone Might Be Wrong!
Plus, it boasts Google’s excellent camera system, offers slightly more RAM, and, you know, features a more premium finish—specifically in terms of the materials used, such as its glass back, and so on. Consequently, people are drawn to this device based on its on-paper specifications and features. And you can even customize it to look like a Ninja Turtle—which could arguably be considered the most essential feature of any phone. But my take on the matter is somewhat different. Look, ever since the Pixel 6 launched, I’ve been using it as my primary phone. I did review the Pixel 6 Pro initially, but I subsequently handed it over to my brother and purchased a Pixel 6 with my own money.
Pixel 6: Started Amazing…But These Bugs Ruined Everything?!
Initially, it was a good phone—in fact, a fantastic phone, right? Typically, devices start off on a solid footing and only get better over time with software updates. But for some inexplicable reason, with this particular device this year, the bugs and technical glitches seemed to multiply as the months went by. I encountered issues with its fingerprint sensor. To get it working properly again, I had to perform a complete “factory wipe” (reset)—which turned out to be an incredibly frustrating experience. I also ran into problems with the screen’s “auto-rotate” feature; sometimes, it simply wouldn’t rotate when I wanted it to. And I also encountered issues with its ‘Adaptive‘ feature.

Pixel 6 in 2025: Random Screen Blackouts & Crashes—Is This Phone Broken?!
The brightness issue has persisted ever since the November update. It feels like you’re outdoors on a sunny day—looking at your phone, using it—and suddenly, with a jarring jolt, the screen goes completely black. You find yourself wondering, “Man, why is it acting like this?” I actually like adaptive brightness; I’m not one of those people who blast the brightness to the absolute maximum and risk damaging their eyesight. I appreciate adaptive brightness, but on this device, it is completely unreliable. We’re already halfway through January, yet this issue still hasn’t been fixed—it’s absolutely ridiculous. And speaking of Twitter: if I’m inside the app and scroll even slightly too fast, the app crashes. It literally shuts down completely, and I have to reload it. Consequently, I don’t even use Twitter on this phone anymore. If I do use Twitter, I do so on my iPhone or computer, simply because it doesn’t work properly on the Pixel 6.
