OnePlus 11R: Oppo Fears Gone…Is This the Real OnePlus Comeback?!
If I were to say that I felt no hesitation when OnePlus became a sub-brand of Oppo, I would be lying. How would it all unfold? Would our prices go up? Would they neglect the very things that initially made OnePlus so appealing to the average consumer? And then, shortly thereafter, Oppo made certain decisions—such as the pricing of the OnePlus 10 Pro or the removal of the Alert Slider—decisions that only heightened my apprehensions regarding the OnePlus 11R. However, it appears they have, for the time being at least, walked back on all of those things. With this phone, at the very least, they’ve gotten the fundamentals right. On paper, the 11R looks like a true-blue OnePlus device.
I mean, it boasts excellent flagship-level specifications, a robust build quality, capable cameras, and all of this comes at a highly competitive price point. So, in today’s video, let’s take a closer look at what the OnePlus 11R is really all about. Hey guys, I’m Ash from C40 Tech, and let’s get started. Before we dive in, a quick request: if you’re on Telegram, please use the link provided in the description to join the C40 Tech channel so you can stay updated on all my latest uploads. So, what do you think of the idea of featuring the unboxing in a split-screen view right at the beginning of the video? I mean, I feel like we’ve all reached a point now where we pretty much know what to expect inside the box, don’t we?
OnePlus 11R vs 11: Same Design…But What Are They Hiding?!
Do you think continuing to handle unboxings this way is a good idea, or do you feel I should go back to discussing the unboxing in full detail as I used to? If you have a moment, please do let me know in the comments section below. Alright, let’s get back to today’s video—specifically, the 11R. It looks remarkably similar to the OnePlus 11. Now, that is not something we could say about its predecessor. The OnePlus 10R was a completely different phone compared to the other devices in the OnePlus 10 series. Its specifications, its design—if you aren’t particularly tech-savvy, you might not even realize that these two phones belong to the same family. But that is not the case here. The 11 and the 11R look absolutely identical.
OnePlus 11R: Same Look, Cheaper Build…Is It Still Worth It?!
However—since this is the more affordable option—there are, naturally, some differences. You might ask: what are they? Let’s take a look. On the 11R, we get the older version of Gorilla Glass—Gorilla Glass 5—so there is no clear winner on that front. Anyway, the back panel looks exactly the same, though the 11R features a smoother finish compared to the 11. And the sides? On the 11R, they are made of plastic.
OnePlus 11R Surprise: Alert Slider + IR Blaster…Did They Just Outdo the 11?!
Is the Alert Slider included this time around? Surprisingly, OnePlus has actually gone a step further and included an IR blaster as well. This isn’t something you typically find on the OnePlus 11 or any other OnePlus device. There is even a first-party app that allows you to control your TV, air conditioner—or whatever else you might wish to control.
